Membership Terms & Conditions
- Unity Wollongong Inc (herein referred to as Unity) is an incorporated apolitical non-profit volunteer social organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (GLBTQI) identifying people, their friends, families and supporters.
- Unity is administered by an elected Committee. The Committee makes decisions about the development, direction, management and activities of Unity with feedback and input from the general membership. The Committee is comprised of a President, Secretary and Treasurer and up to six Committee Members in accordance with the Constitution.
- All members are bound by the Unity Constitution. The Committee may take lawful decisions deemed necessary and reasonable, including suspending or banning any member or prospective member, in order to uphold the Constitution and/or these Terms & Conditions.
- Participation, active involvement and volunteering of members and their guests in Unity events are the keystones of Unity. Serving on the Unity Committee is not a paid role.
- Volunteers who incur costs undertaking Unity business may be reimbursed subject to Committee approval.
- All members and their guests are expected to be considerate and respectful to one another and behave appropriately at all Unity events.
- Minimum age restrictions will apply at certain Unity events where required by law or decision of the Committee.
- Annual membership of Unity is free for all. Membership is for a period of 12 months subject to the Unity financial year (1 April – 31 March). Membership payment received between 1 December and 31 March automatically carries through to the next membership year.
